Welcome to Mountain Star

For many, the draw of the Vail Valley includes the various resorts with their skiing and spas. For other, the Vail Valley is a place where they can find a home with peace and tranquility along with some of the most breathtaking view imaginable. That sums up what Mountain Star is all about. Although less than thirty minutes away from all the action of Eagle county, this gated development is everything one could imagine in a mountain home.

One characteristic that makes this community unique is the amount of space given to each home. The entire subdivision is sprawled out over 1,300 acres of rolling hills and forested land yet only contains 90 houses. This means an average of 14 acres per home. Homeowners can not only enjoy all the wide-open space year-round but are greeted every day with the sights of the Gore and Sawatch mountain ranges.

The homes themselves follow a philosophy of becoming one with the surroundings, despite having some of the most prestigious homes in the entire state, this is one of the most environmentally friendly communities in the country. Construction of the homes use locally-sourced building materials and maintain a low carbon footprint. Here homeowners can get a “cabin in the woods” feel despite being in high-end homes with all the local amenities and services of the local community. All homes are single-family and there are no commercial structures within the subdivision. However, that isn’t much of a problem with its close proximity to the neighboring towns.

Listed homes are very hard to come by in Mountain Star and it isn’t uncommon to see a just a single sale per year. So, if you’re interested in living in this community, it’s best to jump on an opportunity when it arises before someone else beats you to it!
