Welcome to Lionshead

Like Vail Village, Lionshead is a mecca of fine shops, restaurants and first-class accommodations, which makes life in this village, essentially, carefree.

With the Eagle Bahn gondola steps away to whisk you to the top of Vail Mountain in a manner of minutes and ski school at the base of the mountain – getting started on a winter’s morning is simple and stress-free. To add to the fun, the Arrabelle at Vail Square ice skating rink is open daily throughout the winter.

The summer months bring a plethora of activity to Lionshead including free concerts and art festivals that culminate with the Vail Jazz Festival, held on Labor Day Weekend. Of course, in the summer, you can hike or bike up the mountain, or relax and enjoy the views of the Gore Range with a scenic ride on the gondola up to Adventure Ridge. Once there, hikers will enjoy a wide variety of trails ranging from easy, like Eagle’s Loop or Fireweed, to more challenging like Berry Picker. Mountain bikers, too, will find a range of trails to get their hearts racing.

Off the mountain, take a walk along Gore Creek to Vail Village, hop the free in-town bus, or enjoy a bike ride – east or west – to see the rest of the Valley. With its year-round restaurants, activities, and dining, Lionshead epitomizes the resort lifestyle that was envisioned in Vail’s early days.
