Beaver Creek Vilar Performing Arts Center Fall 2026: Shows and Village Evenings

October 8, 2026

Beaver Creek's summer lift operations ended Sept. 27, having switched to weekends only after Sept. 7. The mountain is scheduled to reopen for skiing on Nov. 25. Vail Resorts notes that the date can shift with weather and conditions. That leaves roughly eight weeks with no lifts and a shrinking list of open restaurants. Under the plaza, the Vilar Performing Arts Center has ten events on its calendar during those weeks.

For an owner in the village, that calendar does two jobs this fall. It gives October its evenings. It also opens the door to the winter, because the Vilar announced its 2026-27 lineup on Sept. 30, and some of the season's most-wanted seats were gone the same day.

The calendar the village keeps after the lifts stop

The Vilar is a 530-seat theater built underground beneath the center of Beaver Creek Village. It is modeled on 19th-century European opera houses, and its horseshoe layout keeps every seat close to the stage. Its fall schedule runs from early October to the week before opening day. The right-hand column lists the restaurants that post seasonal fall dates covering each show night. Two more village dinner spots list daily hours with no seasonal break; they come up below the table.

Date Time At the Vilar Fall dates posted for that night
Fri., Oct. 2 7 p.m. Hermanos Gutiérrez Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Sat., Oct. 3 7 p.m. Tom Rush Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Wed., Oct. 7 7 p.m. Alysha Brilla Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Thu., Oct. 8 7 p.m. Teton Gravity Research, "Actually, It Is Rocket Science" Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Tue., Oct. 13 7 p.m. Punch Brothers Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Thu., Oct. 15 7 p.m. Craig Ferguson Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Fri., Oct. 16 7 p.m. Santa Rios: A Tribute to Carlos Santana Blue Moose Pizza, Mirabelle
Tue., Oct. 27 7 p.m. Yeison Landero Blue Moose Pizza
Fri., Nov. 6 6 p.m. National Geographic Live, "A Pirate's Life" with Lisa Briggs Blue Moose Pizza
Thu., Nov. 19 7 p.m. "Girl Winter" Film Tour None with seasonal dates

Mirabelle is open Tuesday through Saturday until its Oct. 18 off-season closing. Blue Moose Pizza at the Poste Montane Lodge runs fall hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Sept. 28 through Nov. 9, with a closure Nov. 2 through Nov. 4. Blue Moose's 8 p.m. close and the Vilar's 7 p.m. curtain leave a narrow window, so the pizza has to come before the show. Golden Eagle Inn at 118 Beaver Creek Plaza says it is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Hooked at 122 The Plaza lists dinner daily from 4:30 to 9:45 p.m. Either one covers a dinner after the 7 p.m. curtain, including the nights after Blue Moose's fall hours end.

Tom Rush moved from Oct. 2 to Oct. 3, and tickets bought for the original date carry over. The Vilar's packages page still showed Oct. 2 at last check, while the current calendar lists Oct. 3.

Half of October fits on one $125 pass

Four of those dates make up most of the Vilar's Love For The Locals fall series. The program grew out of the theater's former Underground Sound series. Its programmers look for artists of high quality whom most audiences haven't heard yet, and they price the shows to be affordable. The fall pass costs $125 and covers five shows, with one drink included at each. The tickets in the pass are transferable, so the five nights can be split among friends or given away.

The first of the five, Hiss Golden Messenger, played Sept. 25. Four shows remain:

  1. Tom Rush, Sat., Oct. 3. A central figure of the 1960s folk revival, whose album "The Circle Game" helped start the singer-songwriter era.
  2. Alysha Brilla, Wed., Oct. 7. A three-time JUNO nominee whose sound draws on her Indo-Tanzanian heritage and global percussion, with a new album due in 2026.
  3. Santa Rios, Fri., Oct. 16. A nine-piece band playing Santana's catalog, from the psychedelic jams to "Supernatural."
  4. Yeison Landero, Tue., Oct. 27. A Colombian cumbia accordionist, grandson of "King of Cumbia" Andrés Landero, and winner of the Congo de Oro at Barranquilla's Carnival in 2023.

Because the tickets transfer, the pass is less about attending all five nights and more about filling October without buying single tickets. Before buying this late in the series, check with the box office at 970-845-8497 that passes are still available.

The dinner options keep shrinking until the resort restarts

The table shows the pattern. After Oct. 18, Blue Moose is the only village restaurant whose seasonal fall dates still cover show nights, and those dates end Nov. 9. From then until the lifts start, a village dinner comes down to Golden Eagle Inn and Hooked and their daily hours. For a morning coffee, Vail Mountain Coffee & Tea's Beaver Creek Café at 15 Thomas Place lists daily hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., though its page doesn't say whether those hours change in October.

Restaurants start coming back the day before the lifts. Citrea at 61 Avondale Lane is scheduled to reopen for winter on Nov. 24. Mirabelle returns for Thanksgiving on Nov. 26. Beaver Creek's posted 2026-27 schedule then reopens the resort-run venues in stages over the next month:

  • Nov. 25: Spruce Saddle, The Ranch, Cookie Cabin
  • Dec. 4: Allie's Cabin
  • Dec. 5: Candy Cabin
  • Dec. 11: Mamie's
  • Dec. 17: Broken Arrow
  • Dec. 18: Talons
  • Dec. 19: Beano's Cabin, Zach's Cabin
  • Dec. 24: Eaton Haus

The resort says these dates and hours may change with conditions. The winter guide also lists a few new additions. A Spruce Saddle Cabin Corner will serve chef-curated, cabin-style food on select dates starting Jan. 5. A 14-person rare-whiskey dinner called Last Drop is on the schedule, and Mamie's in Bachelor Gulch hosts an Après Pop-Up Weekend March 19 through 21.

October is when winter evenings get booked

On Sept. 30, the Vilar announced nearly 40 winter performances running Dec. 5, 2026, through Apr. 9, 2027. Most tickets went on sale right away. The rest go on public sale Friday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m., which is also the night Hermanos Gutiérrez plays. Both of Nathaniel Rateliff's shows on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 were already marked sold out on the Vilar's calendar.

Those Rateliff nights are tied to Birds of Prey. This year the World Cup event runs Dec. 3 through 13 with seven men's and women's races, the largest Birds of Prey festival yet, and the Rateliff concerts are part of the festival. The men race downhill Dec. 3 and 4, super-G Dec. 5 and giant slalom Dec. 6. The women race downhill Dec. 11 and 12 and super-G Dec. 13. That puts the two sold-out concerts on the evenings of the men's super-G and giant slalom. Local reporting quotes Beaver Creek COO Bobby Murphy describing the women's third race as a meaningful expansion.

"We're bringing artists whose work reaches audiences around the world into a 530-seat theater in the Rockies," said Cameron Morgan, executive director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center.

The rest of the winter dates to plan around:

  • Dec. 10: "Mountains of the Moon" film, presented by The Bindu Memorial Fund
  • Dec. 20: Frisson, "Christmas by Candlelight"
  • Dec. 23: Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 28: John Oates & The Good Road Band
  • Jan. 2: The Temptations, closing out the holiday week

The new year adds Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Leftover Salmon, Midori with Festival Strings Lucerne, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, and two nights of the Broadway musical "Shucked." It also brings the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, in his final season as the organization's artistic director and the orchestra's music director. The Vail Daily's announcement doesn't give dates for these shows, so check vilarpac.org or call the box office before the Oct. 2 public sale.

In practice, the eight quiet weeks give a village owner the chance to see Punch Brothers or Craig Ferguson in a 530-seat room and to lock in seats for the holiday shows before the December crowds arrive.
